What kind of a blog is this if there's nothing in it?
A lot has happened since August. As it turns out Adam loves school which is great - but mindblowing. At the risk of sounding like a war veteran and using phrases like "...in my day..." I cannot believe how quickly kids learn these days and how much they are taught at school at such an early age. He is forming and writing words himself, loves numbers and was gutted when he was off school sick last week.
On the downside he is getting more and more self aware and can be very vocal in telling you what he wants and doesn't want. I am please to report that we do not smack him (although Glenn and I aren't against it) and prefer to reason with him - he's a smart cookie and if he's not just tired he is reasonable.
The back end of last year was not so good. We sadly lost our dog Jess after her recovering from a near ruptured spleen in July. We were told then she had cancer and the Vet had removed some tumours when she had her spleen op. Still we never expected to lose her so soon and we still miss her terribly.
Mum and Dad have both been off work sick at various times and my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer which thankfully seems to have all been removed.
New Year and new starts...I am now 17 weeks pregnant with our second baby! Just when you think things are starting to form a routine life changes. I don't think we realise quite what we are letting ourselves in for but I am really hopeful for this year.
New Years Resolution: To get and keep in touch with old and new friends and family again...

New Beginnings
I never thought I would actually get round to doing this but finally I have. And with a purpose.
Adam, our not so little boy has reached the grand old age of four. He is fabulous - even though I do say so myself. Yeah, ok so he's cheeky, very contrary and is a seemingly never ending ball of energy at times but he's ours. I live for the marvellous one liners he unwittingly delivers at unexpected moments throughout the day, his smiles, his laugh but especially the way he compliments me on how beautiful I look when wearing anything other than my usual Mumsy jeans and T shirts.
He is about to start school for the very first time which scares me (at how much time has flown) but also thrills me that we have finally got to this bit. He seems ok with it all but I would love to know what is really going on inside his little head. I, on the other hand, am a mixed bag of emotions and given the chance would probably blub like crazy at the drop of a hat. I hate the fact that he will miss his friends at nursery. One little girl in particular, Emma, has been his best friend and sadly she is a year behind Ads and also going to another school. I know he'll make more friends but I don't think they'll come close for a long time.
